Horse racing systems

Systems are like diet plans: plenty of junk, a few that work if you actually follow them. Most “failed” systems fail because the punter did not keep the rules.

Money management

A winning method still loses if the stakes wander. After a good day people raise the stake because it feels like the bookmaker’s money. After a bad week they either freeze or chase odds-on tips. Both wreck the record.

If a losing run has taken the fun out of it, stop. Come back later. That is not part of the system; it is how you stay solvent enough to use one.

Free systems

FlatStats has published all sorts: outsiders in three-horse races, grey horses, favourites in the last race, even horses with R as the third letter. Some were jokes. Some were not. None of them work without discipline.
