Course Description
The oval shaped course is run right handed and is approximately 1 mile 2 furlongs in distance. Bends are tight. There are 8 fairly difficult fences for the National Hunt meetings, two of these are open ditches.
Facilities
The Club Enclosure: There are a variety of bars and restaurants in this enclosure for exclusive use by the Day Member Badge holders. Members also have full access to the Grandstand Enclosure.
The Grandstand Enclosure: Racegoers have access to the grandstand, parade ring and winners enclosure. There are a variety of bars, restaurants and fast food outlets to choose from.
Directions
By Car: The course is situated 6 miles east of Edinburgh off the A1.
By Bus: Lothian Buses bus numbers 26 and 44 leave from Princes Street in Edinburgh & First Bus service 44. Please alight at Musselburgh High Street for the racecourse. First Bus service 124, Edinburgh North Berwick, runs past the racecourse, on Linkfield Road.
By Rail: The nearest train station to Musselburgh Racecourse is Wallyford Station on the Edinburgh Waverley to North Berwick train line. We organise a free courtesy bus from Wallyford Park and Ride (250yds from Station Platform) to the Racecourse, returning after racing. The courtesy bus is timed to meet trains from Edinburgh and from North Berwick. Details of times are given below.
