Course Description
The flat course is 1mile 1furlong in length. It is run left-handed has tight bends and undulations. The National Hunt course is a wider and slightly longer circuit. It has eight notoriously easy fences. The course also has an extension. which is used for flat sprint races and contains a ninth fence for some National Hunt races.
Facilities
Grandstand & Paddock Enclosure: This Enclosure will allow racegoers access to all of the main racecourse facilities, including the Parade Ring, Winners’ Enclosure, Totesport Betting Shop and Tote Credit Club, as well as offering panoramic views of the Flat and National Hunt racecourse itself from either of the two tiered grandstands or the roof-top terrace above the cafeteria.
This Enclosure is served by a number of food and drink outlets. Whether you want a three course meal in the Restaurant or a light bite from the Self-Service Cafeteria, there is something to cover all tastes and budgets. In addition, hot and cold snacks can be found in the Champions Bar & Buffet and the Gods Solution Bar, which also offer full bar facilities along with the Parade Ring and Betting Shop Bars.
The Course Enclosure: This Enclosure is situated in the centre of the track it provides a very good view of both the National Hunt and Flat Racing throughout the year. The Course Enclosure offers food and drink outlets and a children’s playground. At each race meeting there are a number of on-course bookmakers and Totepool betting facilities available. During the Summer Holidays and on Saturday afternoons additional attractions are provided to keep younger racegoers entertained throughout the day.
Directions
By Car: The Racecourse is situated just off the A1 approximately 5 miles south of Scotch Corner. Quick reference to a road atlas will show you that the exit at Catterick Village is the most suitable point to leave the A1. The Racecourse is situated on the outskirts of the village and well signposted from the A1.
By Rail: Darlington is the most conveniently situated railway station, approximately 15 miles from the Racecourse. The United Bus Station is easily found by exiting the railway station (via the back entrance) andwalking down Victoria Road. Buses run frequently to Catterick Bridge and stop outside the Racecourse. Call the Bus Station on (08706) 082608 to confirm bus times and plan your journey. If you would prefer to take a cab call ‘Village Taxis’ on (01748) 836536.
