Course Description
The course is a flat left handed oval of about one and a half miles with a long run in which will test the most boldest of gallopers. The course benefits from being close to the West coast, the moderate climate and sandy soil combining to produce an excellent racing surface at all times of the year. There is also a steeplechase and hurdle course.
Facilities
Club Badge Holders: Holders of this badge have access to the following restaurants.
The Princess Royal Suite incorporating the Furlong Bar and the new Horseshoe Bar, is situated in the Princess Royal Stand, overlooking the whole racecourse.
The Champagne and Seafood Bar is situated overlooking the paddock.
The Belleisle and Bistro Bar is situated on the ground floor of the Princess Royal Stand.
The Paddock Restaurant is situated on the ground floor of the stand adjacent to the paddock. Must be pre-booked (Subject to availability).
Grandstand Ticket Holders: Holders of this ticket have access to the following.
The Cree Lodge is situated behind the main Grandstand.
The Eglinton Suite and Restaurant is situated behind the main Grandstand. Food from the Eglinton Restaurant cannot be pre-booked.
The Be Friendly Bar overlooks the Paddock.
There is also a variety of fast food outlets are located throughout the course.
Directions
By Car: Approach Ayr from either north or south on the A77 and continue on the bypass. As you approach the turn off you will see signs to the racecourse. The course is about a mile from this junction and will be on your left as you approach. Car parking is available close to the main stand, and our parking attendants will assist you if required. Car Parking at Ayr is free.
By Rail: Ayr railway station is a short walk from the course. There are regular local and main-line services to Ayr.
